Hi there, thank you for visiting my blog! My name is Monika and I am the blogger behind My Food & Happiness :)
I am passionate about healthy eating and I love taking pictures of food that will make you drool. I created My Food & Happiness because I wanted to have my own online food world where I can share everything I learn every day about food and all the delicious recipes I create in my little kitchen in London. I am forever seeking the truth about all types of foods out there and the true meaning of a healthy and happy diet. I believe that we should all be on a real food diet (free from processed food), without going to extremes and still being able to enjoy our food. There is no perfect diet, except the one you create for yourself and the one that you feel works best for you.
I live in London but I was born and raised in Bulgaria. Throughout my whole life, I keep finding new things I am interested in and want to do. From ballet and photography to a degree in Business Computing systems and a food blog, I have done it all! I decided to combine all my hobbies and passion for food with my IT knowledge and one day after months of sleepless nights I created My Food & Happiness all by myself.
I manage the website during the night and weekends, during the day I work as an IT Business analyst in the media industry. I am lucky to be working in Soho, which is probably the best place in London for a foodie like me as you can discover new places and new food every day. Soho’s food is a constant inspiration for the recipes on this blog. I also love to travel like most people do, so occasionally I write about my travel destinations as well.
I don’t like to restrict the variety of food I can have, so I am neither vegetarian, vegan nor paleo but I respect the views of each one of those diets. I eat mostly high-protein vegetarian food, which is why most of the recipes on this blog are vegan and vegetarian. I try to listen to my body, without restricting it (well sometimes a bit of restriction is required when it comes to sweet treats). I try to enjoy simple natural foods in a balanced way, not as a temporary diet. No calorie counting, just real food that is delicious and makes me happy. If I feel like pizza, I will go to my favourite pizza place in Soho and get a pizza (I love authentic Italian food)!
If this is your first time here, I suggest starting from this article – Healthy eating and how to start, it covers my view of what healthy eating really is and it will also take you through all the sections of the website.
